From December 21 to December 23, 2014 took place in the halls of the City of Glorenza-Glurns in Val Venosta-Vinschgau, the “Hack-my-town” Workshop, which involved five Italian Universities:
- Free University of Bolzano-Bozen (Unibz)
- University of Genoa (Unige)
- Politecnico di Torino (Polito)
- Consorzio Roma Ricecrche (CRR)
- University of Basilicata (Unibas)
The workshop, organized by the Faculty of Computer Science – Unibz, IDSE group, took place as a challenge, a hackathon among University students to find solutions to real problems of the territory, in terms of technologies and learning systems.
All the participants enjoyed the Hackmytown Workshop in the beautiful city of Glorenza/Glurns. All the teams literally worked night and day for presenting very interesting ideas, but two teams were finally awarded, the Politecnico di Torino Team and Unibz Team. (see awards)
The administration of Glorenza-Glurns was very enthusiast about the workshop and in particular how students approached the resolution of some Glorenza-Glurns issues, paying particular attention to the respect of the traditions and the sensibilities of the Glorenza-Glurns inhabitants.
The ideas developedby the teams of students during the HackMyTown Workshop will be presented to the population by dr. Vincenzo Del Fatto at GAP (Glurns Art Point) from 10:00 to 18:00 during the “Vinschger Palabira Days” in Glorenza/Glurns (http://www.glurns.eu/en/
A meeting with the administration is also planned to verify the feasibility of the ideas presented by the teams of students.
